Excavator Operator – Whangarei

Our Broadspectrum Transport Infrastructure Group an experienced Excavator Operator for our ongoing contract work.




You will need to have at least 5 years of proven work experience in Excavator operation; 5 years of proven work experience in Road or Civil construction is preferred. No formal qualifications are required, but basic handyman/maintenance skills are a definite advantage.


You will need to be familiar with basic maintenance and construction equipment as well as demonstrated effective verbal and written English skills.


You must be able to read and interpret plans as well as be capable of working with minimum supervision and also be able to lead a small team.


It is expected that you are physically fit as the job requires digging, heavy lifting, prolonged periods of walking, standing, band bending; frequent repetitive hand, arm and leg/foot movements and pushing/pulling.


Current full NZ Driver’s licence is required with WTR endorsement at a minimum.


STMS level 1 certificate are an advantage.


The successful candidate shall be motivated and competent to ensure that projects are completed to the clients' satisfaction while meeting or exceeding Broadspectrum profitability expectations.  You will need to be hard working, reliable and have good communication skills.
