The Telco Construction Division of Broadspectrum is one of the country's largest service providers in the industry. We provide a complete range of internet, data, and voice, mobile and fixed line services together with a 24-hour call centre and fault response. Our highly skilled workforce allows us to provide complete telecommunication solutions to a broad range of clients anywhere in New Zealand.

 

We currently have a vacancy for a Construction Team Leader.

 

This role will be responsible for supervising the performance of the work outputs of the designated technicians in the allocated areas so that the business unit and the overall business achieve the performance commitments of all contractual agreements with all clients, in particular the FSA Contract with Chorus New Zealand.

 

In addition, you will also be expected to deliver different Quality Control and Continuous business improvement activities.

 

You will be expected to act as the technical first line support for day to day issues that arise on the Field.  You will also be expected to undertake this and perform the role as a Field Technician within your area of expertise.

Ideally you should have the following skills/experience/attributes for this role:

 

  • Proven experience in supervising staff
  • Competent in building and maintaining Copper Networks
  • Familiarity with working in the Telecommunications Environment in New Zealand
  • Familiar with commonly used fibre test equipment and methods.
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Very good customer and people management skills
  • Excellent knowledge and application of on-the-ground health and safety practices
  • Proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid driver’s licence
