ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a new Workplace Trainer and Assessor to join our in-house RTO Broadspectrum Training Services. We’re a small and dynamic national team and award winning training organisation. We are backed by the capability of one of Australia’s largest employers across multiple growing economic sectors. This role will provide training support across nationally recognised and business specific competencies to support Broadspectrum’s operations including subsidiary Easternwell. Easternwell is Australia’s leading drilling, well-servicing and camp management specialist operating in the resources sector.

The role is based at our Toowoomba QLD training facility Mon-Fri. Some travel to field and interstate training sites will be required from time to time. 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

Key Technical/Vocational Skills:

 

  •  A current Cert IV Training and Assessment minimum
  • Higher level educational qualifications highly regarded
  • You will draw on your extensive vocational and technical skills and experience to help our students develop and enhance their practice in a range of subjects. Ideally you will have qualifications, competencies and experience related to:
    • Working in confined spaces
    • Working at heights
    • Emergency response
    • Work Health and Safety and Safety Leadership
    • Operating vehicles
    • Professional skills
  • A background in resources and mining, transport, defence, logistics or other similar industries is highly desirable.

 

Key Professional Skills and Experience:

 

  • You’re a highly regarded professional in your field who can think clearly, problem solve, learn to adapt and teach others to do the same.
  • You’re an expert presenter and educator, no matter the audience whether blue-collar staff or our support and management teams. You can make the complex simple because of your extensive expertise in the fields you train. You command an audience by bringing them along for the journey and empowering our students to do their best work. 
  • You are meticulous in your planning and design of training sessions to ensure the product we deliver puts the student at the centre of the experience. Your training is technically detailed, up-to-date with industry standards, and encourages our learners to challenge themselves and others to be better because it is delivered in a compelling and influential style that suits adult learners.
  • Quality is our most important cornerstone. We don’t cut corners. You bring the highest level of integrity and accountability to your work and follow through with a high level of attention to detail in all that you do. 
  • You see the world through the eyes of our students by deeply understanding their learning environment, challenges and concerns. In response, you present yourself as the role model and leader to follow by having exceptional organisational skills and high standards.
