The Contract


Ventia will put the customer at the centre of everything we do through the Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract. We aspire to deliver a step change in the delivery of road and ITS maintenance and management services in the western Parkland zone of Metropolitan Sydney and further ITS services through the rest of regional NSW. The Role


Based west of Metropolitan Sydney the Intelligent Transport Systems Supervisors will be responsible for the provision of technical, commercial and team leadership, during the delivery of services of Traffic Systems, Intelligent Transport Systems and Streetlighting equipment and systems. 
There will be a strong focus on service delivery and the coordination of Projects, including compliance, planning, scheduling, documenting and reporting and coordinating with stakeholders and subcontractors on additional works.

 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the accurate recording of all activities undertaken on site.
  • Complying with statutory requirements and the project management systems.
  • Reviewing subcontractor’s quality, health and safety and environmental documents.
  • Ensuring employees and subcontractors are appropriately licensed and inducted.
  • Preparing, implementing and updating the site OH&S requirements as per Ventia policy.
  • Managing and coordinating health and safety, quality and environmental protection activities on site including inspection and testing, monitoring, measuring and documenting. 
  • Preparing and implementing the operational roster. 
  • Facilitating the training of personnel to ensure awareness of responsibilities and to improve capabilities. 
  • Managing and resolving disputes, non-conformances, accidents and dangerous occurrences and environmental incidents.
  • Maintaining management services system records and audit supplier and sub-contractor OH&S, quality and environmental systems.
  • Implementing and monitoring external and internal KPI’s to comply with contract requirements and to ensure better performances by Ventia staff. 
  • Completing detailed reports and administration works associated with the above duties and the general operations of the project.
  • Supporting the Asset Manager and ITS Asset Engineer in the delivery of Asset Management Planning Services across the project.

 

Requirements 

 

  • Degree in Electrical, Control system or Communication engineering.
  • 10 years of relevant experience working with ITS Systems and in Services/ Project Management.
  • NSW electrical license essential.
  • Understanding of Intelligent Transport Systems and traffic signal and streetlighting systems.
  • Experience with operation, maintenance, design & construction and testing and commissioning of Intelligent Transport Systems
  • Strong computer skills with experience in computerised Management and Asset Management Systems 
  • Client focused and the ability to communicate effectively and in an informative manner at all levels
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Planning & Organisational skills
  • Ability to problem solve and think analytically and strategically.

 

Please note there will be a flexible approach required to working hours and the requirement to participate in the “on call” and relief service to facilitate delivery of service/ works during closures and interfaces with operational periods.
