About the role

The purpose of the Deputy Governor is to lead the team, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and staff. The Deputy Governor will work alongside the Governor in leading the Senior Management Team to ensure the smooth operations of the facility and proactively monitor and deliver on the contract KPIs. This role will report directly to the Governor to ensure the daily operations of the Centre run smoothly and enable the seamless flow of communications and collaboration between the various business units. As we continue to pursue opportunities and grow our presence in the justice and corrections sector, we are looking for people who can contribute to a high performing and dynamic business unit and are able to influence and deliver excellent service to our customers. This will include being involved in the strategic development of the centre as it grows and expands

Skills & Experience:

You must be skilled in delivering positive outcomes and results in a complex correctional environment. You will be an excellent people person with strong interpersonal skills, personal values that show a recognition that people can change and an ability to embrace diversity and to have a relentless focus on delivery and doing the right thing. In addition, we will be looking for:

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Significant operational experience in managing services to the justice and corrections sector
  • The demonstration of “constructive” leadership skills by bringing people on board and believing in your vision
  • Positive values that align with a belief that people can change and we can influence that
  • Demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity
  • Want to grow and develop your own leadership skills with a view to governing yourself
