About the role

 

The Intelligence Manager leads the PCC intelligence and violence reduction function, a critical component of the safety and security model in that it assists MTC-Broadspectrum to ensure the integrity of PCC, limit adverse incidents to the minimum practicable, and maintain an environment where the most vulnerable feel safe. This role ensures the intelligence system provides a strengthened platform to develop and implement crime prevention and intervention initiatives to reduce opportunities for internel threats to eventuate into incidents.

Other responsibilities include:

 

  • Contribute to safer communities by maintaining a contemporary intelligence model that enables engagement with the wider intelligence community,
  • Maintain MTC-Broadspectrum’s Violence Reduction Strategy and ensure all inmate misconduct is dealt with fairly, promptly and consistently
  • Ensure the intelligence function is integrated into day-to-day operations
  • Liaise closely with the State’s intelligence resources to ensure continuity of intelligence related to potential threats and risks
  • Engage with the wider Intelligence community, State’s Intelligence section, State Authorities and local Community Groups

Skills & Experience:

 

You will ideally be skilled in delivering positive outcomes and results in a complex correctional environment. You will be an excellent people person with strong interpersonal skills, personal values that show a recognition that people can change and an ability to embrace diversity and to have a relentless focus on delivery and doing the right thing. In addition, we will be looking for:

 

  • Must hold the Certificate III in Correctional Services and enrol in the Certificate IV in Correctional Services prior to commencement, and must complete the Certificate IV course within the first 12 months of service in the role
  • Demonstrate the capacity to mentor, motivate and manage the work of others and to model exemplary behaviour to team members and inmates
  • Demonstrated previous experience of working at a similar senior level in a correctional environment is necessary
  • Must obtain and maintain a First Aid accreditation HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
  • Positive values that align with a belief that people can change and we can influence that
  • Demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity
