About the Role


Thanks to a newly awarded contract by the Department of Corrective Services, MTC-Broadspectrum Joint Venture are now currently seeking candidates wishing to enhance their career as a HEAD OF SAFETY & SECURITY, based initially at our offices in Parramatta, moving to the Parklea Correctional Centre in Western Sydney.


In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all Parklea Correctional Complex (PCC) Inmates, staff and visitors through fit-for-purpose policies, work practices, systems and infrastructure. It is only through the provision of a safe, humane and well-ordered environment that Inmates can achieve their goals and desist from reoffending upon release.


You will exhibit excellent leadership qualities and the ability to motivate and influence both staff and Inmates.


Your ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure, high-risk situations is a critical attribute for this role.

  • Bring the necessary experience and knowledge of best correctional practice to assess any risk or situation and ascertain the best course of action to maintain a safe environment for all persons within PCC.
  • Have a proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, role-model positive values and behaviours, create a clear and compelling vision, set clear direction and provide mentoring and coaching.
  • Have at least three years’ relevant experience in a senior leadership role in a correctional, justice or institutional setting
  • Have exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills which will enable you to nurture positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
  • Be highly knowledgeable in research and evidence related to offender rehabilitation and positive resettlement and reintegration outcomes for people released from prison.


Overall your ability to manage threats to the safety, security and wellbeing of yourself and others, are the key skills we require.

You must have Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain obtain appropriate security clearances from New South Wales Police and Correctional Services New South Wales and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test in order to be eligible for this position.
