Reporting to General Counsel the purpose of this role is to provide timely expert knowledge, advice and legal support in all aspects of the business.  Provide guidance to other Legal Counsel and managers in order to help prevent or minimise all legal risks to the organisation, and to improve the organisation’s legislative and regulatory compliance. You will hold key working relationships with Legal & Governance, Law firms and other service suppliers, Senior management team and senior leaders in the Transport Sector and other Support functions.We are seeking an individual who is currently working for a Law Firm or Inhouse or a Legal Practitoner practising their certificate.  You will have  3- 8 years of PQE experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Relevant Degree in Law (foreign jurisdiction acceptable) or a related discipline (Masters Commercial Law).
  • Minimum 3-8 years’ experience in a similar role or from a major law firm.
  • Experience in front end construction, transport, infrastructure and energy projects while working for a large organisation. Some experience in litigation would be preferable.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated written communication and IT skills.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • The appointee is expected to take on other duties as may be directed by the General Counsel or business from time to time

NB: This is a permanent full time role, however flexible work hours such as part time are available if required.
