Our business
We are currently seeking an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to join our team with The Australian Department of Defence as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter. This is a 4-year apprenticeship and will involve a schedule of a four day on site and one day of TAFE.
The successful candidate will be required to perform all trade related tasks and associated with the maintenance and repair of vehicles, plat, and equipment. Operate machinery and assist in non-mechanical maintenance and construction tasks as required. 
Successful Candidates will need: 

  • Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old and hold a year 10 certificate. 
  • Safety Orientated 
  • Good practical problem solving skills
  • Genuine interest in this trade 
  • Willingness and dedication to understand further education of TAFE
  • Desire to learn and take direction and follow processes
  • Ability to be thorough with attention to detail
