We have a long and successful partnership with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and the partnership continues to grow.  Broadspectrum has been successful in securing the National Clothing Store Services Contract (NCSS) for the ADF over the next 5 years with potential for extensions beyond that tenure, so it would be a great time to join the team. Clothing Stores are primary logistic functions characterised by the process of Sales and Issue of Clothing and Personal Equipment (C&PE); Medal Mounting; Tailoring and Operational Kitting skills. Internal movement of Freight is also involved. These services are provided to Defence individuals and Defence elements.

The Role

Broadspectrum is currently looking to engage a Site Leader for the NCSS contract to manage the Melbourne store. The Site Leader ensures that all elements of the NCSS contract within the base are carried out in accordance with the contract requirements and appropriate Defence and Broadspectrum Services Policy.


Primary Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for providing support and supervision of up to four employees. Including, but not limited to the provision of site inductions, on-the-job training, task allocation and managing staff rosters.


You will be required to apply judgement, initiative and flexibility to resolve problems and challenges within the designated area of responsibility. At times you will be performing work without supervision either individually or in a team environment.


A high standard of interpersonal and communication skills is required to effectively lead and co-ordinate all operational aspects of the store.


The successful applicant will preferably have a developed and applied knowledge of Defense related logistic policies to conduct internal governance and audits. With an ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and regulations of the contract.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience within Defence sector (highly regarded)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasking and time, and to deliver a value for money seamless service
  • Experience in performance management and reporting
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated written communication and IT skills
