About the role

We are currently inviting applications for a Project Engineer to join our team on an upcoming roads contract.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead a structures team, including designer and sub-contractor resources, to scope and develop works projects from cradle to grave to achieve time cost and quality outcomes in line with the contract requirements.
 

As the successful candidate in this role, some of your core responsibilities will include;

  • Prepare contracts and evaluate and manage subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality requirements meet or exceed the minimum standards
  • Scope and Deliver projects to achieve client and contract objectives, including identifying, assessing and managing delivery, cost, community, legislative and environmental risks
  • Ensuring project controls and reporting responsibilities are put in place and maintained
  • Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of forecasts and cost reports and appropriate allocation of resources to achieve the project time and quality objectives at optimal cost
  • Measuring and reporting on progress against project plan
  • Engaging with the Asset Manager to ensure project objectives are met and agreed during development and delivery phases
     

Your experience should include but not limited to;

  • Manage the identification and delivery of structures rehabilitation and maintenance projects within cost, safety and time constraints
  • Engage with Environment, Community and Safety SMEs to ensure compliance requirements are met prior to delivery.
  • Ensure the highway structures delivery of projects and proposals are based on well considered, sound engineering principles with demonstrated accuracy in quantity, resources, time and cost
  • Ensure all projects undergo a suitable risk analysis at each stage of development including, assessing and managing business, community and environmental risks
  • Prepare, evaluate and manage subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and health, environmental and quality requirements and capability to perform the contract obligations
  • Performance manage, cost, quality, program, safety and environment
  • Establish and agree the design and delivery concepts / requirements, ensuring it meets client requirements
