This is a permanent, full time role based at HMAS Cerberus, in the Mornington Peninsula.

In this role you will be responsible for developing new and using existing systems and processes to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management in delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements.

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor Safety Management Plans across the project.
  • Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
  • Ensuring risk assessments and risk registers are maintained and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Ensuring that the Ventia “Critical Risk Protocols” are embedded in the project through Leaders.
  • Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, toolbox talks and pre start meetings.

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene and Health, Environmental or Quality Equivalent.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team culture.
  • Demonstrated experience in safety / environment / quality or relevant industry role.
  • Detailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environment.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.

The successful application for this role must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1 (Secret) and be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol test.
