Working on a full-time permanent contract the successful candidate will work in Enoggera within our National Clothing Store Services Contract (NCSS) for the Australian Defence Force. Clothing Stores are primary logistic functions characterised by the process of Sales and Issue of Clothing and Personal Equipment (C&PE); Medal Mounting; Tailoring and Operational Kitting skills. Internal movement of Freight is also involved. These services are provided to Defence individuals and Defence elements.
 

The Role

The Stores Service Attendant will be responsible for the storage and distribution of Defence Force clothing for in service defence personnel on base. 

 

You will work under general supervision, either individually or in a team environment, performing a variety of tasks requiring a knowledge of customer support, warehousing/stores practices and procedures.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Receive, check and acquit stores
  • Stock packing and preparation for despatch along with Loading and unloading trucks when needed and if qualified
  • Assist with kit issues for customers and mounting base activities
  • Handle cash and reconcile cash transactions under supervision
  • Inspect and accept return items from customers for serviceability and re-issue.
  • Process workplace documentation for stores transactions
  • Storing and packing goods and materials in accordance with procedures and regulations.
  • Operate stores machinery, tools and equipment not requiring licenced operator / tickets.

 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience   

  • Prior demonstrated experience as a stores attendant is desirable but not essential
  • Good understanding of Microsoft office suite (mainly Excel, Word & Outlook)
  • Hold good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Both MILIS software and defence sector experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Current forklift licence is desirable but not essential
  • Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance and must be an Australian Citizen.
