Broadspectrum are currently seeking an Environmental Services Coordinator to join their team at RAAF Base Darwin. The primary purpose of the role is the technical support to the environmental service delivery across the regions/zones of the Defence Base Services Contract and the monitoring of environmental strategies, policies and programs that promote sustainable improvement in that region/zone. This role will also identify, design and implement business improvement programs, deliver assurance programs and compliance activity as well as build relationships with key regional stakeholders including Defence and internal managers. 


Primary Responsibilities 

  • The Environmental Services Coordinator is accountable for the following within the region/zone of responsibility:
  • Drive a culture of delivering customer and shareholder value.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of key environmental strategies and action plans that ensure sustainable long-term Defence capability;
  • Advise and provide technical support to contract and project managers on matters of environment and sustainability;
  • Ensure timely implementation of key end to end landscape management programs, including but not limited to: bushfire, weed, feral & overabundant native species, groundwater / surface water and tree risk management;
  • Ensure timely end-to-end delivery of ad-hoc activity;
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of scheduled land/ground maintenance;
  • Ensure delivery of the annual Land Management Maintenance Schedules (LMMS) in collaboration with Defence at the Regional level;
  • Deliver environmental services specific assurance activity, developing improvements as an appropriate consequence;
  • Auditing, analyzing and reporting environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies;
  • Leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices; 
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation; 
  • Liaise with Defence on environmental matters where required;
  • Build a positive working relationship with the Regional Environment Director for Service Delivery.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Estimating and scoping support for Defence Base Services Contract Change Proposals, survey and quote proposals, ad hoc works and business cases;
  • Develop and provide training to Contract staff in the environmental services aspects of the Base Services Statement of Work;
  • Support commercial and financial aspects of contract delivery;
  • Writing environmental reports, assuming the lead responsibility within the service delivery for the region/zone. 

 

Key Deliverables

Key Experiences & Skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in the Environmental sciences or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication experience and effectiveness.
  • Experience in Project Management or Contract Management is favourable.
  • Analytical capability.

Special conditions
Must be an Australian Citizen as the role has a requirement to be able to meet and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance.
Australian Drivers Licence.
Must be available to travel across the region/zone of responsibility.
