Civil Supervisor - Chorus UFB2

About the role

To support our new Chorus UFB 2 contract we are looking for a Civil Supervisor to cover the Otago/Southland region (the person can be based elsewhere in the country) who enjoys planning, being accountable for the quality of work within agreed timeframes, taking ownership of the financial costs (including variations) and productivity while ensuring our high health and safety standards are always maintained.

 

Skills & experience

  • Experience in  leadership and excellent organisation skills with the ability to plan ahead and avoid reactivity
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in project delivery in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with civil installation techniques ideally in telecommunications, water or power
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and influence both internal stakeholders and the client
  • Experience managing financial budgets for the duration of the job including;
    • understanding P&L reporting
      • WIP
      • Ensuing any issues are identified and remedied to avoid cost impacts

 

Qualifications

  • Valid full New Zealand driver licence (able to drive a manual vehicle).

 

Duties and or responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Regional Build Manager this role offers the best of both worlds with the combination of using technical business skills together with onsite practical experience.
  • Management of teams and subcontractors including individual performance management
  • Strong commitment to Health and Safety
  • This role requires travel across the region.
