Our construction division in New Zealand are starting to capitalise on a number of significant opportunities in the Water Sector with particular focus on water treatment plants and pumping facilities, and will soon begin work on a recently acquired project in Northland.
The role
In this Senior Project Engineering role you will use both your operational delivery and pre-contract skills & experience from the Water Infrastructure industry to work on both live projects and contribute to bids for upcoming opportunities. This is a broad role which at various times will see you involved in every phase of the project cycle from bid to completion. Initially you will be focused on the delivery of a significant project in Northland. If you live in Auckland there would be an expectation that you would travel to site as required.
This role requires autonomy and the ability to take ownership of a project on site, and in that respect will suit an engineer who is seeking an opportunity to take a step up to project management level. At bid phase you may act as an operations contributor or lead depending on the size and complexity of the project. At delivery phase you will be responsible for managing internal crews and subcontractors to deliver projects on time, within budget whilst ensuring that the required quality and safety standards are met at all times. You will demonstrate your relationship development skills through your collaborative approach with internal stakeholders and through your interactions with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers. Experience in the construction of structures will be advantageous.

• Experience in the delivery of Water and Wastewater construction projects or the construction of Heavy Industrial facilities in the $2m-$20m range.
• Brownfields experience and the ability to liaise effectively with operating teams will be advantageous. 
• Structural engineering expertise
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence
• Estimating and bidding capabilities will be advantageous.
• A network of contacts within relevant suppliers and subcontractors will be advantageous.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering
