Due to a recently won project our water construction division are seeking a commercial accountant to join the finance team in support of a major infrastructure project.

The Job
As a project accountant, you will be the first point of contact for the project manager for all financial matters. You will manage end to end financial processes in a hands-on manner, including month end results and reporting, cash flow, raising purchase orders, time sheeting and ensuring people and bills are paid on time. The project is based in KeriKeri, so we could potentially accommodate someone in that area, but the preference is for the role to be based in Auckland with an expectation that you will occasionally travel to site.
It would be great if you had some previous experience in construction but if you don't some form of project accounting experience may be sufficient. We’re more interested in you experience, but a finance degree will be advantageous. You might be a commercial accountant who has project experience or you could be a former project administrator who has transitioned to project accounting. It would beneficial to have used SAP or some ERP system previously, but if you haven't we will provide training.

  • Previous project accounting experience.
  • An accounting, business or other relevant degree is preferable
  • Resilience and openness to change
  • Good basic IT skills, especially excel. Exposure to SAP will be advantageous but is not essential.
