Project Accountant

Broadspectrum have a long and successful partnership with Mobil Australia. Broadspectrum are now seeking a qualified and eager Project Accountant to join their team based at the Altona Refinery.

 

We are looking for someone who is a team player, who is willing to step up and assist the team with the delivery of finance administrative functions when required. Someone who is able to multi task, as you will be working across multiple projects at once and demonstrates excellent written & communication skills. This is a long term opportunity for the right person with different career paths available.

 

 

About the Role:

  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, margin results and the Contract/Project actual performance compared to the budget/forecast plans controlling income, cash flow and expenditure.
  • Prepare project/operations budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide support and guidance to the contracts support team and contract/project managers
  • Participate in regular contract reviews with the operations team and provide required input, advice and insights into contract performance, improvement opportunities and status of initiatives
  • Complete F&A related activities including financial analysis to support operational decisions and performance, month-end close, forecasting, reporting and complex billing across allocated contract(s), procurement and backfill in the payroll team when required.
  • Develop and maintain a solid and detailed knowledge of the contract(s) including financial, commercial and contractual requirements.

 

 

Highly desirable skills would include:

  • Qualified accountant with 2-3 years’ progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of large corporation position or a similar type of role that demonstrates detailed knowledge of project accounting.
  • Demonstrated process understanding of the core F&A processes and track record in financial analysis and reporting which provides meaningful insights into business performance. This includes solid, detailed knowledge and experience in SAP.
  • Proven Contract(s) F&A leadership, delivery and innovation in the Finance function. This includes effective project, risk and time management skills incorporating work activity planning, prioritisation, and risk awareness/identification/resolution.
  • Demonstrated communication, engagement and influencing capability working directly with multiple finance/ operational managers and support function representatives.
  • SAP Experience
