Based at the Mobil Altona Refinery, we are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager who can lead the site maintenance teams and support project delivery. This permanent position will also be working with our Turnaround Team and Subcontractors in areas of safety, reliability, quality and responsiveness.

The responsibilities of the position will also include;

  • Delivering Continuous Improvement through competitive pricing, productivity, innovation and cultural change management.
  • Providing coverage for the Alliance Manager and set Leadership standards for the Alliance Group.
  • Demonstrating Safety Leadership through actions, including the Exxon-Mobil LPS system, OIMS, and incident investigations.
  • Promoting effective communication across departments to effectively execute all maintenance works, thereby ensuring customer requirements are met and exceeded, and Broadspectrum resources are fully utilised.
  • Ensuring delivery of Contract’s annual financial targets, whilst also identifying areas of cost saving and opportunities for innovation that will continuously improve workforce productivity. 
  • Working with the Alliance management team in the planning and control of the overall resource requirements for Maintenance, Majors (Turnarounds) Capital and Operating Project teams.
  • Managing the site’s Employee Relations including Dispute Resolution, in accordance with Company policy, strategy and relevant EBA agreements, to ensure reliability for the client.

Required Skills and Competencies (minimum):

  • Extensive Operational Management experience ( Blue Chip / Multiple Sites )
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Management Style Awareness / Empathy
  • Commercial experience
  • Industrial Relations Experience
  • Continuous Improvement experience
  • Thorough knowledge of HSE systems and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional Engineering qualification (desirable)  


  • Current Driver’s License
  • Willingness to undergo an Australian federal police check
  • Flexibility with working hours to meet demanding project deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasion, and/or undertake alternative short term assignment, as directed for the role
