Allwater are currently seeking a suitably experienced candidate to fulfil the role of Plant Supervisor at the Happy Valley Water Treatment Plant.

 

Joining an experienced and dedicated team who are part of our Water Supply Operations Group, you will play an important role in the effective operation of South Australia’s largest potable water treatment plant. Reporting to the Southern Water Treatment Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the plant to consistently deliver safe, clean drinking water to over 40% of Adelaide’s 1.3 million residents. Operation of the facility will need to be delivered in compliance with all safety, quality, health and environmental guidelines.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Operating and facilitating maintenance of the Water Treatment Plant in accordance with business requirements.
  • Monitoring and implementing the necessary operational changes to maintain optimum operational conditions and efficiency
  • Participating in site activities to ensure compliance with stringent quality, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Operation and oversite of the Happy Valley Major Hazard Facility
  • Facilitating the development and delivery of capital upgrades/projects.
  • Supervision of 3 direct reports

 
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with a number of stakeholders from across the industry.
  • Proven experience in a similar role in water or wastewater treatment, maintenance or operations, will be advantageous.
  • A methodical approach and high attention to detail will be necessary to record and analyse crucial data effectively.
  • Experience with SCADA and automated control systems is also desirable, as is a good general understanding of IT systems.

 

Key requirements:

  • Qualifications in a technical/trade discipline or other relevant higher qualifications
  • Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license
  • Participation in a 1 in 4 on call roster
  • Verification of qualifications/licenses will be undertaken along with pre-employment medicals and background police checks for all shortlisted candidates.
