Allwater are seeking an experienced Electrician to join the Wastewater & Reuse Electrical Team maintaining the Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant and Network Wastewater Pump stations. You will be based at the Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant, however as required the role will also necessitate work at remote facilities managed by the Glenelg Team. This is a permanent full time position.

To be successful for this role, you will demonstrate proven industrial electrical and instrumentation experience and hold a current ‘A’ Class Electrical Worker’s Licence. You will have a commitment to fostering a successful interface with operations to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently and safely without compromising operational integrity. Previous exposure in a field based maintenance role, along with knowledge of water & wastewater plant systems, will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of wastewater industry assets
  • Maintaining critical electrical and control assets including switchboards, instruments and PLC based control systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical, instrumentation and control issues
  • Liaise with operational staff as required to ensure plant and pump station operational performance is maintained and critical process issues are diagnosed and resolved

To be considered for this role you will demonstrate:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with a number of stakeholders
  • Awareness of current WHS policies and procedures
  • A methodical approach and high attention to detail
  • Good general understanding of IT systems and computer literacy
  • A pro-active approach to work tasks and ability to work effectively & efficiently as part of a small team  

Key requirements:

  • Current ‘A’ Class Electrical Worker’s Licence
  • Cert III Instrumentation & Control or Cert IV Electrical Instrumentation would be highly regarded
  • Be available to work an on-call roster for nominated areas
  • You may be required to work flexible hours to meet demands where necessary
  • Work and travel to multiple sites and locations (including remote wastewater pumping station sites) where necessary
  • Current unrestricted Australian driver’s license is required
  • Verification of qualifications/licenses will be undertaken along with pre-employment medicals and background police checks for all shortlisted candidates
  • The right to work in Australia
