Custodial staff update
Our recruitment activity is progressing very well. Thank you to everyone who has shown an interest in the positions. Employment letters of offer for Custodial Officer positions are being issued on a staged basis, before Christmas and continuing in early January. Offers will be issued via email.

In January, those who are accepting employment with MTC-Broadspectrum will start to go through the onboarding process. Onboarding involves reading key employment policies and completing employment forms such as those for payroll and superannuation, emergency contacts and so forth. It is completed online and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. We will provide support in this process. Details about the support will be announced in the next issue of ParkLine.

If you have not applied, and you are interested in employment with MTC-Broadspectrum, please apply by 24 January 2019 (note we have extended this date from when this newsletter was first issued). You can apply to open positions at http://bit.ly/Parklea. If you do not see a position that matches your career goals or experience, submit your CV to pccrecruitment@skoutsolutions.com. A cover letter is optional.

All new applications submitted by 24 January will be matched to positions in our organisation structure by 28 January 2019. If you have already submitted an application, you do not need to apply again. Your experience has already been reviewed and matched to positions in our organisation. Beginning 28 January, we will be contacting everyone who has applied but has not yet had their interview scheduled. The purpose of this call is to schedule a police check, a medical and an interview for suitable role(s). We are conducting police checks and medicals for everyone in parallel with the interviews in order to expedite the process.

Interviews will be held on 2–3 February. If you are not available on these dates, we will schedule your interview at an alternate time, but we encourage participation in interviews on this date for a quicker process.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES
A variety of permanent, casual, full-time and part-time roles are available at Parklea Correctional Centre in Parklea, New South Wales. The centre houses about 1,000 minimum and maximum security inmates.

Available roles include custodial staff positions, professional and management positions, leadership roles and other jobs for people with a wide range of experiences and skills. If you are interested in being part of a high-performing team that makes a difference, consider applying today.

RECRUITMENT MILESTONES
All employees will be provided with an on-boarding and induction program, as well as formal training (e.g. Certificate III or IV) appropriate to the role. Training will be provided in-house by our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and experienced staff. We will also provide recognition of prior learning.

Below are the milestones in our hiring process:

  • Roles are advertised – October
  • Information sessions – October 
  • Candidate shortlisting and interviews commence – October & November
  • Pre-Employment checks & offers – November, December, and January
  • Full operations begin – 31 March 2019
