Ventia is seeking a motivated and highly-organized individual to be part of their hardworking team in Kaikohe.

 

Our Water division in Northland operates 18 sewerage and 9 water treatment plants in the Far North.

 

Reporting to our Water Quality Manager and based in Kaikohe, an opportunity has arisen for a motivated and graduated individual to join us in the position of Laboratory Technician.

 

This position is permanent part time (24 hours per week) but a permanent full time position could be considered in the future (40 hours per week)

 

Your  key responsibilities will be;

  • Carrying out all tasks necessary to ensure timely and appropriate testing of water and waste water samples
  • Accurately record all test data and complete reports
  • Data entry (including Water On-line)
  • Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
  • Confident with safe chemical handling, Health and safety and Quality Assurance

 

The successful applicant will have an interest in the water industry and does not need to have experience – but a keenness to learn more. They will be motivated and enthusiastic, have a practical approach and work well in a team environment. Strong organisational skills, a working knowledge of computers and excellent written and verbal skills are essential.
